Internet Security Tips
All users of business and home computers should be aware of a few
basic security precautions. A lack of safe internet usage could result in
untold losses for a small business. Basic security practices include the following:
1)Never open attachments except from trusted sources, and only when you are expecting one.
2)Make sure you have anti-virus software installed on your computer.
And just as important, be sure to get new virus updates as they become available.
McAfee's VirusScan is highly recommended, additional information can be found at
www.nai.com.
3)Adjust the security options on your browser
(in Internet Explorer go to Tools - Internet Options - Security).
4)If you are using a PC check the Windows Update site for critical updates.
5)If you have a DSL or cable internet connection, it is recommended that you install a firewall.
ZoneAlarm is good - and free! See www.zonelabs.com.
